【Product Story】

Susumaniello is an indigenous grape variety from Italy, originating from the southeastern region known as "Puglia," which resembles the heel of a boot and is the largest wine-producing area in southern Italy. Susumaniello is one of the rarest and oldest grape varieties in the world, with its name derived from the Italian word "Somarello," meaning donkey, because in earlier times, its abundant yield required donkeys for transportation. However, over time, the production of Susumaniello has drastically decreased, and it has become a nearly extinct rare variety. The wine produced from this grape variety is rich and diverse, with a full body, complemented by its elegant and noble quality, resulting in an excellent flavor. This wine is harvested using a low-frequency destemming machine and processed promptly to maintain the integrity of the grapes, followed by maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, and then aged and crafted to create a full-bodied mature fruit aroma!

Tasting Notes

Color: Deep ruby red with mysterious purple hues.
Aroma: The mature scent of sweet and sour blueberries and red fruits is abundant, complemented by the fragrance of red flowers and the grassy notes of the thicket, adding overall complexity. There are also subtle hints of tobacco, herbs, and faint spices detectable afterwards.
Taste: Elegant and full-bodied, with ripe tannins, fresh fruity flavors and a long finish.
Food pairing: Whether it is the appetizer meat platter, porcini dishes, various grilled game or the aged cheese platter, they are all amazing.
